Performer, Songwriter, Instructor

Originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, Randy is transplanted freelance musician currently performing in LA and Orange counties. He is a versatile guitarist who has been playing guitar since the age of 16 and holds a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Music from the University of Hawaii. Randy has also attended the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA where he graduated with Certificate of Completion with Honors in 1990. He plays multiple styles of music ranging from Rock to Bach and Jazz to Country. Besides guitar, he also sings, plays the mandolin, bass, harmonica and keyboards.  

Randy has played and performed in numerous bands over his musical tenure. In 1982, he was a member of Malisha who later released an album on Shardan Kane records called "Serve Your Savage Beast". In the 90's, Randy played with a band called "Tara" that recorded a few demos and performed on the infamous Sunset Strip and other venues though out Southern California. In the 2000's, Randy was part of a few tribute bands (Rush, Heart, Journey and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers). The tribute bands have performed at the Coach House (San Juan Capistrano) all the way up to the Canyon Club (Agoura Hills).

Currently Randy performs as a solo acoustic artist playing originals and covers of Roots, Blues & Americana music. He has his Blues band "The Gamble" which perform 50's-60's blue primarily as a trio (guitar, bass, and harp) and with the RLH Band. The RLH band is a kitchen sink type band that blends blues, fusion, a mild touch of R&B and Rock and Roll. Catch them when they play for some high energy fun. You will occasionally find him subbing if for other bands such as CC Stugino and The Jim Flaherty Band.

Randy plans to head into the studio to record a long awaited EP of original music. Randy is currently available to accept students who are interested in studying, learning and playing the guitar. He has taught private guitar and bass instruction in the states of Hawaii and California.
